CLIA Waived Drug Tests

The Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) is a set of laws that govern the laboratory testing systems operating around the Unites States. It is important for the laboratory to work in compliance with the State and federal laws, in addition to being in compliance with the CLIA.

Usually for drug tests extensive paper work is needed, in compliance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA).

However, there are some tests that do not require such extensive paper works. Those tests that can be done without any extensive paperwork are called as “CLIA waived tests”.
