The Mechanism Of Action Of Different Kinds Of Drugs Is Different
There are a number of drugs that are capable of producing the addiction but every one them have a different mechanism of action. Alcohol is the most commonly abused substance which is followed by sedatives, opiates, cocaine, cannabis, tranquilizers, etc. But all of these invariably lead to the verge of depression, lowering your physical health, spoiling your social, life and lead to a brutal death. It exists as a major medical, social, ethical, moral, legal and political issue.
Usually the habit of taking drugs would start by adolescence as a part of recreational activities per national household survey on drug abuse. This is reinforced by peer pressure per drug testing statistics. This risk is many fold higher in the delinquent youth where crimes done for the sake of procuring drugs are very common. Then slowly the youth start increasing the frequency of the consumption of the drugs and end up with addiction warranting drug testing advice and drug testing urinalysis. It can be either a physical or a psychological dependence. Further, once the addict becomes tolerant to any of the narcotics, then they tend to exhibit cross tolerance too.
Though a chronic brain disorder, yet it is a treatable one if brought to the attention of the physician, psychiatrist and other Para professional workers. But the main problem is the identification of such a person and secondly the person has to come forward in treating the disorder. The people around the addicts can easily find out from their behavior and the disappearance of money and articles. You may even find strange packets, needles and syringes.
Once this identification is over, the treatment should be given based on the type of drug abuse and rehabilitation should be given to continue the process of weaning away the victims of drug dependency. A strong family support and a regular follow up is essential to prevent relapse.
