Role of ovulation testing in pregnancy

Ovulation is the process of releasing mature ovum from the ovarian follicle. Ovulation is triggered by the LH hormone produced by pituitary gland. In every menstrual cycle, number of ovarian follicle will develop to mature. Only one follicle will mature in to egg which is said to be dominant follicle where as others will recede. The mature egg is now released through fallopian tube to reach sperm for fertilization. Before the ovulation takes place LH surge is produced. LH surge triggers the discharge of egg for fertilization. LH is produced through out the menstrual cycle in meager amount. Ovulation occurs in the midst of the menstrual cycle. (more…)
