One of the most popular psychotropic drugs is MDMA or 3, 4 methylene- dioxymethamphetamine. It produces excitation in such a pleasurable way that it is very popular by the name ecstasy. It is basically a stimulant with hallucinogenic properties. A dose of 75 to 100 mg produces symptoms within half to one hour. In addition to the general symptoms of stimulants, it also produces spasm of the muscles of mastication referred to as trismus and the grinding of teeth referred to as bruxism.
