Drug abuse is a prime contributor to homicide, suicide, motor vehicle accidents, and deaths. Alcohol abuse is directly attributed approximately to 150,000 deaths each year. Drug abuse and alcohol not only leads to these but also to premature deaths through brain damage, overdose, anemia, gastritis, and other physical problems.
