Most of the Women can have irregular periods because of many reasons which including stress and excessive exercise. The other reason will go with excess secretion of prolactin. If the excess of prolactin is produced by the brain it will interrupt the menstrual cycle. That is why breast feeding women do have irregular periods. In this case also blood test will help you to determine the reason for irregular periods.
