As the consequences of cigarette smoking are very dangerous leading to cancer, heart stroke and other breathing difficulty, immediate treatment is required to overcome the smoking. Lot of methods is available to overcome the cigarette smoking, one among that is drug testing for cigarettes. Drug testing for smoking utilize the principle of immuno chromatography.

· 50mM sodium phosphate buffer – pH 7.2,

· Bulking agents, stabilizers.

· 5mm X 90mm nitrocellulose saturated with Cotton pads, filters.

A control is also provided with the pack which contain

· NicAlert Negative Control with the limit of cotinine 0 ng/mL

· NicAlert Low Positive Control with the limit of cotinine 400 ng/mL

· NicAlert High Positive Control with the limit of cotinine 2000 ng/mL

Positive and negative controls are ready to use with human saliva samples. Controls are prepared by the known concentration of cotinine. Negative Control human saliva is used to test negative for even human pathogens including HBV, HCV, and HIV. The small application of cotinine in the NicAlert Controls are predicted and confirmed by liquid chromatography/ mass spectrometry.
