Department of Transportation and drug testing

Drug testing is the important program implemented to reduce the risk of drug usage. Drug addiction which is threatening the society needs a strict rules and regulations to abolish them. Department of transport have joined their hands with drug testing program to reduce the illegal transport of drug in and out of the states. Illegal drugs are mainly transported across the states via transportation. Hence to beware of illegal transport of drugs across the outskirts transport department has regulated that only certain basis license will be provided.

To get a commercial driving license, applicant should pass the drug test and alcohol test. The drivers need to pass urine drug test, breathe drug test and alcohol test. Department of transport first implemented the urine drug test followed by breathe test and alcohol test. This rule is applied to those who own commercial motors and those who drive commercial motors. This rules and regulations will control the vehicular deaths, accidents and transport of drugs illegally. The main reason for drug testing is the post accidents at high way, suspicion of drivers and information. Drug testing is engaged with the analysis of urine sample. The drug testing laboratories are approved by the department of health and human services (DHHS). DHHS deal with the protection for sample collection and security for samples, etc. samples are divided in to split and primary samples in which primary samples are analyzed and split samples are stored. Illegal drugs are banned for use. Those type of drugs prohibited in highway drivers.

Alcohol test, Alcohol breathe testing, Alcohol drug driving test are the types of test employed in the drug testing in the transportation department. Alcohol test strip and Alcohol test kits are used to detect the alcohol which is the easier method to report the result as soon as possible.
